Are there any special instructions to replacing a vault drive in a CX700? The first drive in the first row of the DPE has failed and I need to replace it. From what I remember it just needs to be the same drive type and size and the system must be powered on at the time.

You should be able to just replace it. It does need to be the same type, and at least the same size. It "should" be able to use a larger drive, it just won't make use of the extra space.

Thanks mrdenny. I think I was making more of it then I needed to. It had been a while since replacing one so I guess I just wanted to be sure.
