Running Solaris 8 and I will install st.conf patch 108725-24
prior to the drive switch. There are 10 LTO 1 drives inside the L700. I will also upgrade the L700 for the LTO 3
drive. I am switching one of the LTO drive.

Presently the st.conf file has entries for the LTO 1 drives,
will the LTO 3 require additional entries?

Thanks

never done a LTO Upgrade but have seen DLT Upgrades...

Run a reconfigure boot
from OBP
ok boot -r
from Shell
# reboot -- -r

check if the driver is loaded and recognizes the drive:
load a tape into drive and run
# mt -f /dev/rmt/yourdrivenumber status
this should print some infos about the LTO3 Tape
