I have two QLC-2300 HBA going to a McDATA 6064 (and onto a Hitachi 9980 SAN ).

MPXIO is enable, so all I/O is going thru one HBA.

I need to replace the bad HBA.

Has anyone done this, if so could you explain the required steps (NEW WWN insertion)

Thanks

This all depends how your zoning and SANtinel (Lun Security) is setup. If you are using WWN zoning, then you will have to add the new HBA WWN to the existing zone and active. With the HDS if you are using SANtinel, then you will need to add the new HBA WWN to the port or ports that are using security with this hosts LUNS.

On the host side, you are probably using persistent binding. (I HOPE SO) If you are, you will need to go into the qla.conf in /kernel/drv and update the persistent binding in the configuration file or use SANsurfer (if installed) to update the persistent binding.
