I recently upgraded from ISDN using a Cisco 803 Router to ADSL. I am having problems configuring the router to connect to the ADSL. At present the ADSL is configured using and Alcatel Speedtouch USB Modem which according to the configuration is using PPPoA.

Can someone firstly, please confirm that it is possible to replace this modem with this Router. Secondly, for some reason, unlike the 803 Router the Cisco Fast Setup doesn't support the 827, configuration is done by template files, which even though I amend the relevant details doesn't seem to work.

The ISP (Which is British Telecom, UK) are useless and recommend I continue using the Alcatel Modem. I have however managed to configure the LAN side and this seems to be working with DHCP.

Can anyone help ?
