Several years ago, I built an employee portal for my organization built on the portal starter kit found here:

We'd like to build a new portal using asp.net 3.5+ but don't want to reinvent the wheel. Best case scenario would be to implement a portal framework that will allow us to migrate user accounts, custom modules, and custom pages over to the new system without having to completely start over. Does anyone know of a newer extensible framework that is built using the same principles of that original starter kit?
