replacement for Zone Alarm

I have used Zone Alarm for many years, but now they require that I do trial offers to continue to get updates. I was considering buying Zone Alarm, but I can't get to my netzero account with the bought version, and I have seen other free firewalls, but don't know which one to use. Or would it be better to just buy a package protection from a vendor. And if so, which one?

i use and like Commodo. Google for it.

I also use commodo and find it to be very good. A little chatty in the beginning, but after it learns your system, it works quite well.
