I have been using pkzip to backup some files on the network. I just do a pkzip recursively through the user directories to backup certain files using a scheduled job. It has been working fine for years, but the zip file has now hit the 4gb limit of pkzip. Is there not some windows command line utility that i can use to replace pkzip? I have looked at compress.exe and a makecab.exe and expand.exe and probably some others but none of them seem to be able to do what i need it to do.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

Winzip? Free trial version available. Try a google search.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

as far as i can tell, you have to buy one of the newer versions of winzip to get the command line utility.
