I just replaced the attendant console with a MLX-28d to accommodate more lines (19 lines all in pool 70) After the two SA buttons I thought the lines would fill in the buttons in order, but it seems to think it's still a 20 button set and blanks all the new buttons except one. I thought this would be simple. But not!

Yeah, it's a b**ch!. You've got some work to do. Wait until no one is there, and remove ALL the lines from pool 70. Now remove all the lines from the Operator.

The system sees the 28 button phone like this:
[tt]
22 24 26 28
21 23 25 27
5 10 15 20
4 9 14 19
3 8 13 18
2 7 12 17
1 6 11 16
[/tt]

Or you can put the lines in any order you want, by planning how to fill up the spaces, adding lines and removing place holders, you just have to plan it all out.

Buttons 1, 2 and 3 are SA buttons. As you add lines they automaticaly go on the next button in sequence. If you want to skip buttons, you add "place-holder" lines, then add the lines you want, then remove the place holders.

So, start by adding lines 1 and 2, which end up on buttons 4 and 5. Now you want lines 3 and 4 to end up on buttons 21 and 22, so press the button that moves you to lines 61 through 80, and add 15 lines (lines 61 through 75). The system places these lines on buttons 6 through 20. Now go back to the line 1 through 20 page, and add line 4 and 5. Now go back to the 61-80 page, and REMOVE the place holder lines that you added before.

Now you can add lines 5 through 9 normally, then you put in 10 place holders, add 10 and 11, remove the place holders, add lines 12 through 16, add 5 place holders, add lines 17 and 18, remove the place holders, add line 19.

Now put all the lines back into pool 70.

Put back any "soft keys" that were erased. Here's what you end up with:

[tt]
Line 4 Line 11 Line 18 Blank
Line 3 Line 10 Line 17 Blank
Line 2 line 9 Line 16 Blank
Line 1 Line 8 Line 15 Blank
SA-O Line 7 Line 14 Blank
SA-V Line 6 Line 13 Blank
SA-R Line 5 Line 12 Line 19
[/tt]

Thanks TTT that worked, though I don't recommend attempting that after a 11 hour day on a friday night. And actually I have two consoles I couldn't do a copy ext so I had to manually program both. But it's all good. thanks for the tip.
