replaced merlin messaging - now no display on sets with old - new - ms

we had an issue where our Merlin Messaging system went south - replaced - restored service its just the displays on the 44xx series phones no longer show msg counts on lcd
display

0 - old , 0 - new and so on

what would prohibit this from working again

If its a release 2.5 or higher - do a board renumber - and the display should come back. If the release is 2.0 or earlier - you will not get the display.
