I purchased a 3.6 hard drive for my BCM 3.5 that crashed. Now I am trying to install patches and I get an MSC error.
Any suggestions? The phones do come up and operate.
Also when I look at the system report for the installed keycodes 1 of them says unknown device

At first I could not load any patches, Have accomplised the MSC core upload and now I can do the patches, Thanks for the Tip.
I still have a problem with one of the keycodes still saying unknown device

odds are the "unknow device" keycode is a MCDN or Companion related keycode. Both of these are actually stored on the MSC as well as on the drive. Therefore when the drive was replaced, these types of keycodes are still on the MSC but are no longer in the keycode file on the BCM HD.

You are right on the MCDN, Can this be removed and then re entered?

It won't let me you get duplicate keycode

as long as you have the option for the SL1 protocol when programing the PRI, the MCDN keycode is still valid.
