Fortunately, I only run into it once or twice a year if I'm lucky but because it's not something I work with all the time, I often forget some of the the details.

Replaced a fried (2.0) CP-100 today (on a 6.1 CICS). It had four unified messaging seats that they were using with M/S Outlook.

The new CP-100 has 3.1 software. Do I need to re-enter any key codes?

If so, will the old key codes work if I can find them or will I need to order new ones?

All users still have the same mailbox numbers and nothing has changed on their PC's so do I still need to reinstall UM from scratch for each user?

If I'm still using the same CAT 5 connection to their network, do I need to assign a new IP address to the new CP-100?

Isn't the IP address typically assigned in their network server by the customers IT people?

As I recall, all of the Unified Messaging software I need is somewhere on the CP installation disk, right?

Gotta take care of this tomorrow so if anyone has any tips for me, I'm all ears! Thanks in advance!

All info is on CD

You need to re-generate the key codes via Nortel KRS system against the new CP serial #.
Requires authorized vendor to assist.

For IP address:
Maybe how ever was admin had a shorcut on their desktop....right click and select properties to see the IP address.

Thanks Curly, I was afraid somebody was gonna say that. :)

So does that also mean that I'm starting all over from scratch as far as loading Unified Messaging on each PC is concerned?

I assume there's no need to change the existing Call Pilot IP address on their network though, right?
