Replace Workstation?

Hi,need help.never done this,i have a win 2000 server w/AD.
one of the computers broke.i have another computer that's never been on the network.what is the proper way to replace broken comp with a different one and have it load the user profile.I did this wrong because all it loads is a temp profile.. HELP Thanks Robert...

if what you are talking about is to logon to a new/different computer and have it load up the users old profile from his original pc you would have to turn on roaming profiles for the user in AD. The problem here would be that if you turn on Roaming profiles now you can not log on from his original pc to load the initial profile. Can you still access the old pc or is it toast?
