I have a Legend with a Merlin Mail 007 module that Avaya says is going bad - replacement cost of $4000. The users are complaining that sometimes they listen to vmail and only hear a few seconds and then get cut off. Avaya came in and said the above.

My question - I have another Legend that is not in use and it also has a Mail 007 module. Can I swap the modules? If so, what's involved? I understand that we'll probably have to go through and recreate everything, but will there be any issues with programming the module? Will it just "plug and go"?

Any thoughts, advice, rumors, etc... are welcomed.

Assuming the replacement has the same number of ports then there is nothing you need to reprogram in the Legend system. You will have to reprogram all your mailboxes and greetings.

Check out our repair prices if you want to fix the bad unit.

You can also use several aftermarket emails which work exceptionally well and cost less.

Exsmogger, you have nice prices. Are you an authorized business partner of Avaya?
