Hi, Wat is the best way to replace a RAID5 set with 4 disks of 72 GB with a RAID5 set with 4 disk of 300GB. I think:

HP Proliant DL380 G3 - Array 5300 controller.

1.backup the volume
2.replace the disks
3.create new RAID5 set (300GB disks)
4.restore volume

And is it possible when I remove the existing RAID5 set and create another RAID5 set to use the old RAID 5 set again with no loss of data?

i always do it the slow way here
well pending on os (i know some take about 5 mins a disk)

pop disk 1 and put new disk in
wait till array has rebuild
pop disk2 and put new disk in
wait till array rebuilds

continue until finished
then pending on os to do rest
ie expand array or logical volume
expand os partition etc

if m$ then you may need to use disk tools such as portlock or something
