Hy everyone,

Hope, someone can help.
I have PDF file say A3 size and want to cut part of file and on that empty space put another file. How can I do this. Simply I have newspaper page finish and haven't got page from original application (i.e. quarkxpress), so cannot go back and make change.

tgreer,

Of course I have Acrobat and all I want is to cut of part of the page and on that empty space put another PDF file to fit. That's all. Have clue?

Even better than opening the PDF in Photoshop - open it in Illustrator - that way, any vector objects (including text) won't get rasterised.

So the question is:

Using only Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional, can I edit two single-page PDF documents so that document A is included as a scaled image on document B?

The short answer is "No, you cannot".

The longer answer is what Eggles said: open them both in Illustrator and do it there.

The even longer programmer techie guru answer is: Save them both out of Acrobat as EPS files, and write a short little PostScript program to image the two EPS files into a single document, with appropriate placement and scale, and then distill into a new PDF. I like this answer because 1) you don't have to buy any new software and 2) I'm a PostScript programmer and can do cool stuff like that.

Good luck.

If you dont need a very professional finish then how about cheating? Create a button to cover the area where you want file #2 to appear, specify it with a white background and as icon only, then set file2.pdf as the button image? Certainly not the best way of doing things, but if you are struggling to get it done against a deadline it may get you out of a hole.
