I have a stack of 3 Summit X250-e switches. I need to replace the Master as it has a bad fan. Is the process any different than replacing a non-master switch? Normally I would do the following:
– “unconfigure stacking slot x” (x is the slot number to be replaced)
– remove the switch you are replacing
– add the new switch in and turn it on
–“configure stack node-address <<MAC>> slot-number x”
– “synchronize stacking node-address <<MAC>>”
– answer “yes” when prompted to synchronize
– reboot the node you just added
– “unconfigure stacking slot x” (x is the slot number to be replaced)
– remove the switch you are replacing
– add the new switch in and turn it on
–“configure stack node-address <<MAC>> slot-number x”
– “synchronize stacking node-address <<MAC>>”
– answer “yes” when prompted to synchronize
– reboot the node you just added
