I would like to replace several LA324 style printers with laser printers on an OpenVMS system. First, what type of Laser printer can replace old serial LA324 style printers. Second, what needs to be done to create a new que on VMS to accept the laser printer. I hope I can just delete the old que and name the new que the same so no program changes need to be made.

I had pretty good luck with HP Laserjets as network attached printers. Yes, you could simply delete the LA324 queue and create a laser printer queue with the same name. The differences would be the /ON="<device>:<port> and /PROCESSOR=TCPIP$TELNETSYM qualifiers when defining the new print queue (assuming that you'll use network attached printers and have TCP on your system).
