replace form submit button with image 1

This does the trick

<input name="submitAction" type="image" src="images/image.png" value="2"/>

but my post contains the x and y coords of where I clicked the button appended to the input name. What gives?

is there another way to replace the submit button without using css? I have several images to use with different submit <input> in the same <form>
