Hi!
We have an NetWare5.1 (sp3) server, who have got some corrupted files. We don´t have a backup of the SYS-volume after the sp3 was installed. Can i replace those corrupted files without problems, if i take the files from an another server with sp3?
The corrupted files is:
SYS:\ETC\JAVA.CFG's
SYS:\JAVA\NWGFX\ACESYS:\JAVA\NWGFX\LOCALE\EN_US.UTFSYS:\LOGIN\NETWORK.GIF's data
SYS:\LOGIN\GLOBE.GIF's data
SYS:\NI\UPDATESYS:\NOVONYX\SUITES~1\DOCS\SEWSESYS:\NSN\UTILSYS:\PUBLIC\WIN32.ORG\OWL501F.DLL's data set,
SYS:\PUBLIC\NDSSCH.EXE's data
SYS:\PUBLIC\MGMT\CONSOL~1\1.2SYS:\PUBLIC\WIN32\OWL501F.DLL
SYS:\SENLMSYS:\SYSTEM\INETLIB.NLM's
SYS:\SYSTEM\NLS\13\RCONPRXY.MSG's data set,
SYS:\SYSTEM\NLS\16\RCONPRXY.MSG's data set,

Thanks!

I hope that when you installed SP3 you selected the Backup files option? If you did, uninstall the Service Pack.

If you didn't, you could try and get the files from another SP3 server, but note: this can cause even worse problems than you have now if you are not careful.

I would suggest the Service Pack uninstall. -----------------------------------------------------

Thanks for your answer!

I`m sorry but i just saw i don`t have told you the "array controller card" was damaged (replaced now), and it is maybe because of that the files is corrupted.
TheLad: Can you descripe that type of problems i can get if i replace files?

Well, you have to ensure that the version numbers are the same. Failure to do this could result in incompatible versions of various NLMs and other system-critical processes. This could lead to the server failing to work correctly, even not booting at all.

You could try re-applying SP3 again? This may replace your corrupted files? -----------------------------------------------------
