Have a BCM 400, replaced a hosed drive with a new one. How many times does the sytem reboot to initialize the HD. It is up to 4 and the leds seem to be in a loop of red led errors each time. Any light on the subject?

Can you go into detail on exactly what you did when you replaced the HD? Did you do a Platform Initialization?
Depending on what you did you may need to run cleanevents. I have had that problem a couple of times.

Thanks
The original BCM HD hosed in the middle of a 4.0 upgade. Obtained a replacement 3.7 hard drive from a vendor. Installed the drive. Logged on with SSH client. Ran through the procedure from the manual. initilized the universal profile.

the dos say the system will reboot several times (it is up to 6)

each time it reboots it goes into the same red ligh flashing sequence.

I can tell you that you have to be patient with it. This is one of those things that you let run and don't look at it for a long time. How long has it been doing this? When I first started with BCM's I had a 400 that I replaced a HD in and followed the docs. It wouldn't come up at all. A red light would light from one light to another and then it would reboot. If I went in through SSH I had to be quick because it would reboot and knock me out. Nortel told me to run the cleanevents.exe file and that did it.

When you get into the system does it say Init status 1.2? If so that is also a symptom of the problem I had.
