Greetings,

What is the procedure to replace an 016 ETR with an 016 TTR?

I tried just powering down the system and swapping the cards but that didn't work. And I could never get the system to change from an 016ETR to the 016TTR. The 016TTR showed up in the inventory but I could change it in the maintenance>board menu.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

A Board Renumber should get the job done. Recently, I did one myself. Worked like a charm. [thumbsup2]

What then is the maintenance>board menu supposed to do? It wouldn't surprise if you said nothing, I've seen Avaya implement menus that don't really do anything.

Thank for tip about the board renumbering. I will need to double check my system documentation so I don't lose anything.

I've always wonder if I could hot swap cards and then renumber or do I need to power down everytime?

[!]DO NOT HOT SWAP![/!]

If you had any of the last 6 ports on the ETR set to T/R, change them back to ETR's first, then power down, swap cards, power back up and then Board Renumber. That should fly.

DO NOT HOTSWAP got it.

Power down - Replace card - Power Up - Renumber

Thanks

Well, you must take into consideration every thing (in the way of extensions) to the right of the ETR, and everything that COVERS the ETR as well.

You could paint yourself into a corner if you have something other than a MAGIX you are doing this with.

Powered Down - Replaced the card (016ETR with 016TTR) - Powered up - then the following

System Renumber -> Default Renumbering

Didn't work.

Do I need to go thru and re-select a dial plan (In my case 2 digit) and then renumber?

You need to do a BOARD RENUMBER (menu, system program, exit, system, board renumber)

DO NOT DO A DIALING PLAN RENUMBER

Duh...

Board renumbering not System Renumbering.

Thanks to all who helped. The new board is working great. I will be testing system functionality through out the day, but it looks like everything will work just fine. Thanks
