When working on repeating info in Publisher 2007, i.e. business cards where the same info will appear in 8 different sections of the page, or 3-up brochures where I want the same info to appear on each pane, is there a way to have the other sections of the page pick up the changes in the section that I'm editing, or do I have to finish the one section and copy it to the other sections?

Business cards are easy. You design one card with the template and it repeats it to the other cards.

The brochure is a slightly idfferent story. You could save it to the Content Library so you could recall it as needed. Or even save it to the Design Library.

Thanks, JPaules.

I realized that the business cards do it, very handy.

I tried adapting a business card document to three panes instead of the 2 column/5 row business card format, but not much luck. How would I make the 3 column/1 row format repeat into the other two panes?

It's worth mentioning - I may not have been clear - that I'm not looking for a brochure as such, I want an 8.5x11 sheet in landscape mode with three content columns - all displaying identical content - that I can have printed and cut in three. So no folding as in a brochure.

Any ideas how I can make the first pane display in all three panes, like the business card does?

Thanks,

Rob

I don't believe you can. Designing one in the size you need then do a copy and paste and paste.

I watched a guy do it today in Publisher 2003, and he gave me the file.

Now I can't get the same file to work in Print Preview in Publisher 2007.

There must be a way to do it, as the Business card template works that way.

I'll have to keep fooling with it.

OK, I think I may have it.

These settings seem to be working for me now.

The key seems to be to understand the distinctions between page setup and print setup, and when in the Page Setup > Advanced "Custom Page Size Dialog" understanding the distinction between 'Page' and 'Sheet'.

Now when I click File > Print Preview, I see a 3-up presentation with 3 identical content panes.

Here's a rough guide to what worked for me, hope someone finds it useful:

File > Page Setup

Advanced

Custom Page Size Dialog

Layout Type:
Multiple pages per sheet

Page:
Page Width: 3.6666"
Page Height: 8.5"

Options:
Target Sheet Size: Custom
Sheet width: 11"
Sheet height: 8.5"

File > Print Setup
Printing options: Multiple copies per sheet
Paper size: Letter
Orientation: Landscape

Okay, we were having a breakdown in communication. I assumed you were talking about creating a new kind of template that functioned like business cards. What you're talking about is a different critter, same results. :)

Does what I have put above make sense? I'm very new to MS Publisher.
