Hi all,

I have a report that I have created that contains information on what items need to be "picked" for a surgery. This list can also contain sets that also have a list of items in them. What I have done is created the pick list and then in the group footer (grouped by surgery) I have inserted a subreport that shows the "explosion" of what items are in the pick list that contain other items.

The problem is that now what I get is the first page of the pick list repeating and then it moves onto the second, third pages, etc. and then onto the "explosion" list.

Any idea why the first page of the grouping is repeating?

Thanks.

- Shaun

Dear Shaun,

Hmmm, it seems to me that you should be grouping by Item and then have the subreport linked to the item to show the explosion:

Group Header 1 Surgery:
Group Header 2 (a) Item
Group Header 2 (b) Exploded list subreport.

What is the linking between the subreport and main report? Is it the surgery .. then that is why you would get the entire list repeated...

Does that help?

Hi Rosemary,

The linking between the main and subreport is based on a booking unique identifier. The reason we don't want to do what was suggested with the two details sections is because the people who pick the items do not care what is in the sets, but the nurses use the "explosion" list later to specify what was used out of the set for costing and replacement. Two different people altogether get the reports and we were looking to collate the two reports for them.

Also, I am not getting the entire pick list repeated, just the first page of the pick list and not even in every case...?

Thanks though. I will keep hunting around and see if I can find the source of the problem.

Fixed my own problem. I had two group footers: (1) actually for the pick list and (2) for the subreport to sit in. Since I wanted the "explosion" subreport to be on a new page I optioned for the New Page after group footer #1, but I forgot to take out the New Page for the group footer main group. I have 5 groupings in the report and had the New Page set for both Group #5 and Group #5a. *blush*

Anyway, if someone is hunting this forum looking for something similar maybe finding my own silly mistake will help. ;o)

Thanks.
