Hi - new to SCO but familiar with Linux/Unix. Is there a way to recover a command that was typed on the command line - similar to the old Windows F4 key press in a DOS window?

The reason I ask is I just had a nasty experience with an old machine where the tape drive went south and the system was dying rapidly. I had to archive data onto floppy discs (bru -cvvvv /dev/rfd0135ds18 /newfile/<file name>. Then I had to do the same to unarchive the data to a new machine (bru -xvvvv /dev/rfd0135ds18 /newfile/<file name>). It would have been a lot easier and less frustrating if I could have recovered these commands rather than have to re-type them over and over again.

Thanks for any help or suggestions

If using ksh, Esc and k allows you to reverse through the .sh_history file.

I want to be good, is that not enough?
