Water in a laser printer is NOT a good thing.
Water in a laser printer is NOT a good thing.
That being said, one of my users' window blew open, and it snowed in his office.
Today, his printer (laserjet 4000) is showing a 55.1.
Well, WAS showing a 55.1
I took it apart and cleaned it... POST tests show power supply is OK, and I tried a different formatter board...
Now, it just sits on "Initializing", and the drive motor starts and stops....
I'm figuring the DC controller board (which I cleaned with LPS and scrubbed down) is questionable, but a 55.1 indicates communications between the DCC and the Formatter... so I don't know.
I'll let it dry out for another day, and try it again, I guess.
Just my 2¢
