I recently upgraded an old windows 95 computer to windows 98 SE. I had an old Maxtor 10 Gig Hard Drive that was partitioned into 5 2.0 Gig Partitions. Now that I have Fat 32 I would like to combine two partitions so I only have four. I would just use FDisk and be done with it but I am booting with Maxtor's EZ-Bios utility. According to Maxtor's site Partition Magic and other partitioning utilities can not be used with Ez-Bios. Can I use FDisk?
I get no response from Maxtors Tech support. I would like to combine two of the partitions without having to reformat the entire drive. If I use Maxblast to repartition Do I have to reformat the whole drive? Any help would be great.

Thanks
JJ

You can remove the Maxtor easy BIOS from the same program that you used to install it , Using the Maxblast program. another course of action you make take if you have problems removing Easy BIOS is to do a lowlevil format using the Powermax this will comptly wipe your hard drive and also you may do a full disk check on the HDD at the same time to do a relly through check of the HDD . this will tell you what shape the HDD is in . Both Maxblast&Powermax can be downloaded from threr site Hope This Helps Solve Your Problem

I presume your 5 partitons are 1 primary and an extended partition divided into 4 logical drives? So you want to reduce that to 3 logical drives?

Yes the primary partition is D and the extended partition is divided into E,F,G, and H I would like to combine H and F. My question is if the the dos FDisk will work correctly if I just run it while Ez-Bios is running. I don't really wan't to use Powermax because then I will have to delete Everything on the Drive. Can I repartition F and H into F without deleting everything on D,E and G?
