Repairing installation

I have RedHat 6.2 installed on a machine and it is giving lockdsvc input/output errors when booting and failing to load load the network and Gui interface etc.

I want to repair the OS without destroying the current data and installed programs

Any help would be appreciated

You can boot from redhat 6.2 cd.
And You can use boot rescue to repair boot system
