REP-1920 error - any ideas?

I've created a report which is simply a select * from a table & presenting the results on the screen - this works fine in Report Builder. I'm trying to run this in Internet Explorer using a tried & tested URL which works for all other reports.

But I'm getting the following error:

REP-1920: Character mode runtime incompatible with DESFORMAT of PDF, HTML, HTMLCSS, or RTF.

Has anyone any idea what might be causing this?

Wierdest thing, but this has suddenly started working ... no idea why but it's sorted now.

Please set the mode to DEFAULT in the report as the report parameter.

For a DESFORMAT parameter of PDF or HTML the MODE parameter should always be DEFAULT and not character.
