When we use REORGCHK to decide which tables and indexes to reorg, then run the reorgs, runstats and rerun the REORGCHK, most times the values do not change....

I have looked at the DB2 manuals and they give a brief overview or the formulas.

Is there a redbook artical that goes in depth of what should be done to resolve each of the F1, F2, F3, F4, ETC...

Thanks...

Tired of spending 12 hours every weekend reorging the tables and indexes with little benifit.

Easy, migrate to Oracle. [noevil]

Kozlow,
Have you looked at the book SC09-4828 UDB Command Ref? It can be found here:
There's quite a lot of info in there on REORGCHK. It starts on the numbered page 576 although for some reason in my adobe that appeared to be 586.

Don't know if this is what you are looking for or if you're after something more.

Let me know.

It would solve ours.... We do not have a DB2 DBA... We do have an Oracle DBA.

I did read the REORGCHK from the manual, but it still does not help me resolve why the reorgchk gives the same values before and after a reorg of a table and recreation of a index. RUNSTATS was run in each case.

I was told to use F4 if a cluster or primary index, but not if a regular. I am not sure why.

No use reorging and recreating if we see no benifit. It also increases our downtime as it does not allow for online reorgs....

Thanks again, and if you have any suggestions.....
