After every restart, my win98/IE5 PC's favorites show an annoying favorite from a past visited site, even though I have deleted all the data I can think of. I cannot find the source of this. Maybe in the Registry? Any help appreciated.

It could be in the registry. You can search for the url string to find the location.

If favorites re-appear after you have deleted them,
your computer is probably running a script when it
starts up. This script will contain a command
called "regwrite" which can write favorites to
your registry. It's probably an HTML file, so search
for files of spec "*.h*" containing text "regwrite"
and get rid of it.
