Renumbering all pages in a book 1

Hi!

I have a book with 10 chapters in it. I have deleted som pages in chapter one, there for I would like to renumbering this chapter.
I just to have 40 pages in the chapter before, now I only have 38 pages.
I have tried to do the numbering again but it doesnt work. It stills shows that the chapter includes 40 pages not 38 which it should be.
Anyone know who to help me?

Have you re-generated the TOC for the book.

Click the second icon from the left at the bottom of the book file. Check that Generate TOC... option is selected and re-generate.

If sunflower oil comes from sunflowers, and vegetable oil comes from vegetables, where does baby oil come from?
