I have a Merlin Legend R3 w/ (3)408 GS/LS-MLX boards, (1) 800 DID board & (1) 012 basic telephone board. I need to renumber a single DID to allow incoming faxes (currently outgoing works great). I have 40 DID lines coming in and basically they are tied to the coresponding extension (ie xxx-7401 ties to ext 401, xxx-7402 to ext 402)
I have a fax connected to a 012 board and it is extension 7139. (This is what is displayed when calling an internal MLX-10D phone). I would like to program DID xxx-7425 to route to the 012 board ext 7139. I will be programming using the main system phone (MLX-20L).

Menu> Sys Prog> Exit> Sys Renumber > single >Extension>old number 7139 new number 425.

Go into system programing, sysrenumber, single, extension, enter 7139, then 425. That should do it.

I got as far as enter new #, entered 425 [Enter] but it will not take. Is this because 425 is in use already? Do I have to renumber 425 to a new number first? (ie 440)

Most likely. It can only exist in the system in one place.
