Hi people.
Look i dont know about AutoCAD, the only thing i know is that is a powerfull tool and eat to much CPU.
Lasr week one person from drawing departament show me one problem they all have with the render process.
He show me that went he try to apply the render, the process start and went the computer finish the job the drawing dosent show the render but autocad command shell say that is Done.
He use personal images not AutoCAD images, went he uses the AutoCAD default images the render process success!!!, but went he use his images dosent work.
I check the images he was using and they where JPG big resolution, i check the file extension of the pictures that AutoCAD use and they are TGA and the resolution where about 320x200 the bigger one, and the images he was using was more than 2500 pixeles now look the size table:
AutoCAD User Size
356Kb 14MB
Do you think they are using big images?, they want to apply 4 files to one drawing.
I explain this to the user and reduce the size of the file to 356kb(+/-480x300), then test and the process was a success some times.
My doubt is:
1; Wish file extension is better to use went we want to apply render, jpg, tga or wich one???
2; The drawings are furniture, do you think that 14MB file size give me great quality over 400kb?
We are goin to buy some new computers and we are thinking on this problem, we are thinking on some AMD64 1.8Ghz 1Gb RAM and some SATA drives PIC Express card, but they really are using AutoCAD good? showing this overview i am thinking that they dont know nothing about autocad performance..Mad
The computer iam talking about is:
P4 2Ghz
512 RAMBUS
40Gb HD IDE
Windows XP sp2
AutoCAD 2005.
I change the windows settings like this:
1; Move Windows Kernel to RAM, dont use paging.
2; Disable Disk Last Access Time
3; Remove some startup programs and services we dont use
4; Profile to be for best peformance
5; Disable Indexing
And some other thinks on windows enviroment.
I was thinking on buy more RAM for that computer and disable Virtual Memory, do you thinks is a good idea..?
Last questions, do you thinks this computer is bad or good to create render? what more can i do...?
The other computers are:
3 P4 1.6Ghz---1.7Ghz----2.4 Ghz they are good???
This all my doubt, i will continue with this problem next week, any tip, link, or information is welcome.
Thanks all for your time!!!
