Renaming Files using code 2

Can I rename a "non-access" file in another directory using code from within access? I import a delimted file from my PC based cash register. It has a .001 extension, which access does not recognise as a delimited file. If I rename it with a .txt extension, the process works. I would like to automate this process, because every day I have to rename several files before I can import the info. Thanks, Rick

Easy! Look up the VB Name statement:
Name oldpathname As newpathname Rick Sprague
