I don't know if there is something wrong with this forum but I know in the past if I searched on this headline, I would get many many returns. Now I do not get anything. I am renaming a sun box. I changed hosts, hostname.hme0, all hosts files in net/ticlts, net/ticots, net/ticotsord directories, but I cannot think of any other area I need to rename the machine. Am I ok here? Thanks all!!

Regarding searching in the forum: I think they changed some of the defaults for searching. The "When" default is the last seven days only. You can select "any time" and get the large number of returns you expect.

Thanks, that did the trick!! Now I am trying to get rid of RPC: Program is not Registered error I am now getting during shutdown. Ahhh!

I'm just making a guess but that sounds like something related to NFS. Have you configured any special mounts or shared file systems? You might want to also check /var/log/syslog and /var/adm/messages for any pertinent error messages.

Yes I commented out all NFS mounted drives in the vfstab, then manually umount(ed) them all and renamed the machine. Restarted, now getting this. Nothing in messages or syslog either. Actually syslog does show this....
