Hello,
I renamed AD user (WS2003) but when I go to see permission to folder or file it appears old renamed user. I removed this user from permission list and apply new name but it still gives me old name. Strange.
Anybody got this problem and know how to fix it. I rename users quite often and it's going to be confused.
Thanks,
Alex

Did you rename both the User logon name and the user logon name (pre-Windows 2000) name to be the same ?

Did you rename just the display name ?

Tell us what you did when you renamed the account step by step

Yes I rename both. I do not have any problem to apply permission to renamed user to NEW object. But when previous user had permission to object before I renamed it even I remove this user and try to re-apply new one it still switch name to old username. Try it yourself you probably will get the same problem.
