Rename small Domain

Hello all,

I have a small active directory environment. AD and DNS reside on the same machine, no exchange or anything else. My issue is I was instructed to name the domain something and it turns out this name is the name of the corp site. Now when I surf to the name it goes to my local server and not the company's site. This company is a franchise. Im in need of some help in renaming this domain.

If that's the only problem you have, then some DNS updates will resolve your issue. You don't need to rename the AD domain just for that.

Find out the public IP address for your web site, create an "A" record in DNS for

http://www (www.yourdomain.com),

and point it to the public IP address.
