I have a Win 2k3 file/print server that has all of our networked printers installed and all the varisous drivers for Win versions, etc.

I want to install netowrk printers from this server to all clients and Terminal Servers. The problem is when you install the network printer, the name gets set to "printername on servername" in the client printers folder. This is my problem.

How can I change this name on the client machine to something different?

Thanks in advance,
Doug

If you want to change it to something like:-

printername on server2

then create a DNS Alias for server2 and see the following re changeing the registry on the print server.

If you want it to be completely different in format from printer on server then I don't know.

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

Right now it is LJ3 on FileServer ... I need it to just be LJ3.
