No. You have to change thier SMTP address. There should be a tab in AD Users and Computers; you'll need the Exchange System Manager installed as well on that machine. I have both installed on my workstation.
I keep the old address, and set the new one as the default. That way mail sent to either one delivers into the mailbox but outgoing mail shows the new address.
I used to rename the account when user was replaced. However it ended up spending more time to fix problem. I found creating a new account is always the easiest/most efficient way
