Rename computer HTA help

I am wanting to write a HTA script for renaming computers to help force technicians to rename computers properly in our school district. Yes, I can find hundreds of examples online, but I cannot find one or bits and pieces that will do what I want it to do. Basically, I want multiple dynamic drop down menus without the use of separate files. First dropdown gives option with current computer name or lets you type in a remote computer name. The first dynamic menu will list all campuses. The second dynamic menu will list only the room numbers in that campus. Next, is the computer a desktop or laptop. Next, is the computer for a teacher or student. Finally, what is the computer number. With those given choices it constructs the computer name or allows technician to type in something else for special computers. So if I am in building 1 in room 3 with the fourth student desktop it will construct B1RM003DS04, rename computer with constructed name and reboot.

What do you have a problem with?

1) Writing an HTA
2) Creating dynamic dropdowns without separate files
3) Creating a dropdown which allows typing
4) Constructing the name

If (2), where is are the names coming from? Is it from a file or are you polling the network? You can also do this in Javascript - do you prefer VBScript or Javascript?
