rename Active Directory

Can I uninstall Active Directory and reinstall it using the same groups and users set up already?

Reason, I now have an internal DNS server (when I didn't before). I can't just redo my DNS server because services and etc.. will be set up to see the internal DNS but can't work now because the servers are all named ABC.xxxinternal.org instead of ABC.xxx.org.

How can I demote and promote the ADS and import or use the previous list of users and groups?

bring up a new Forest/Domain on a separate box, set up a Trust between the two and use the Active Directory Migration Tool to move all your accounts/objects....
