Hey there-I see a nifty feature of ACC2000 is that when I change a table or query name, queries and forms based on that name are automatically updated. awesome.

Now, I need to change the name of a form (my switchboard/main form), but see that any references to that form name (i.e. in query criteria) does not update. I want to avoid, if possible, going thru hundreds of queries and reports to change the form name.

Is there some super duper code you know of that will go thru every object and control and replace the referenced form name?

thanks.

Don't think it exists, not even in Access XP. It's one of the down sides of MS Access. Think you just have to slog.

Sorry

Thanks Jim. trying the demo but get errors, including an invalid page fault. i'll keep trying to check it out tho.
thanks--g

Hi--

Jim is correct. I've been using Speed Ferret for about 6 years now, maybe 7???--anyway, it's AWESOME. I've never used Acc2000 as my company has not upgraded--so with Acc97 you have no choice other than a lot of manual, painstaking labor without a product like Speed Ferret.

You do have to be careful--if you don't set the options correctly for your searches, you can change more than you bargained for. As it warns you when you open it, always make a backup first.

In any case, it's a great tool that I couldn't live without. It's well worth the registration fee (which was lower when I bought it for Acc2.0 years ago, then upgraded to the Acc97 a couple of years later). However, if I had to pay $150 for it tomorrow to keep it, I would!!!

Keith

P.S. The errors you are getting are strange--though they could have something to do with the demo version. I've never had Speed Ferret crash--the only problem I've ever had with it was operator error--LOL!!!
