Rename a file being uploaded

Hi -

I am using an upload script from

http://www.terminalp.com/scripts/.

The script works fine and the file is uploaded properly, but I want to rename the file to a name provided by the user in the HTML form.

Does anyone know how to modify this script accordingly ... or do you know of a script that will allow a user to upload and rename the file?

I assumed that a simple "rename" function would work, but I haven't been able to implement this (I am new to CGI).

Any help would be much appreciated!

Without seeing the code, it is hard to say. However, there are two examples of this trick in the FAQs section of the Perl forum. You might be able to take a look at one or the other of those, see how they work, and then tackle your code.
