I've had XP pro for almost 2 months now and have finally gotten all programs and device drivers working flawlessly. I'm ready to get rid of W2K on my dual boot system. W2K is on drive "C" with the MBR and XP is on "L". I need to know:
1. How do I get rid of W2K?

2. Since MBR is on "C", how do I save it, or should I save it?

3. Will I be able to have XP on "C" when I'm done, or will it have to stay on "L"?

FYI I have Partition Magic 7 and Ghost 7

Thanks in advance!

For Q1 -

Remove the line for the old OS in [operating systems] by going to Start/Run, and typing C:\BOOT.INI Be sure in [boot loader] 'default=' points to the new OS

Reboot, and delete the System files (e.g., C:\WINNT\*.*) for the old OS. Don't format C:, you will need some stuff. hidden and system files, in the C: root don't delete them.

Q2 - Leave it there, one of the reasons you shouldn't format C:

Q3 - I believe it has to stay on "L". Someone else may have a better answer.
The two rules for success are:
1. Never tell them everything you know.
