Is it possible to create a package to remove unwanted software from a client machine?
Not worried whether it pops anything up on the client or not but this functionality would assist me and my customer immensely.
 
Sure. There's several ways to do it.

1. You can write an SMS Installer script that pulls the Uninstall information from the registry and initiates the uninstall:
