We have a Valcom V-2000A Integrated Single Zone Page Control Unit that is connected to an FXO port on our Cisco SRST router (call manager). To initiate an office page, we hit # and then 8.

The problem is that we always hear the # and 8 tones prior to the page. Is there a way to set this up so that those tones do not come through?

On the FXO port dial peer config, try adding Forward-digits none.

Would look like:

Dial-peer voice 1 pots
destination-pattern #8
forward-digits none
port 1/0
