Removing the "(blank)" PivotItem from a PivotField

Filtering out individual PivotItems so that they are not visible is useful, but numerical data apparently cannot be grouped when there is any text (including the PivotItem "(blank)&quot within the PivotField. Is there any reasonably simple way to remove a PivotItem of my choice. There seems to be a "Delete" function that is a member of the PivotItem class, but I haven't figured out how to use it. Also there does not appear to be any manual (non-programmatic) way to completely remove a pivot item from a pivot field.
Any solutions or creative suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

This has plagued me as well, especially with a field of dates in which there may be blanks. If that's the case, forget grouping!

What I have ended up doing (if possible) is to clean up the data and then start biolding the Pivot Table all over again.
