Guys I tried to install Redhat 8.0, it crashed mid way
I cant reinstall it ,I am stuck with a grub prompt
I had set the bios settings with
first boot device as cdrom
second boot device as floppy

How do I remove the grub prompt to get the cd to start installing?

remove this thread , I found a similar article

Could you share the article that you found regarding this? I'm experiencing the same problem and cannot get Linux reinstalled.

Actually, I found something on the web that explained a way to remove the Master Boot Record where grub is starting from.

For those of us unfortunate enough to have the many Windows Startup disks lying around from a previous installation of one of their operating systems, FDISK has an undocumented function that will wipe the MBR from any hard drive. If you type the following from a DOS command prompt it will remove the MBR with few problems (amazingly enough from a MS product)

Code:
FDISK /MBR

Just FYI!

I was getting this message first
cmos checksum error
defaults loaded

and then it would change the default first boot device to floppy

then the grub prompt came

I had to change the first boot device and then the grub prompt went away
