I have a jpeg image but it has some text on it which i want to get rid of, i read a previous post about how to do this, but whenever i try to use the healing tool, the image seems to shift. All i want is for the background behind the text on the image to remain and the text to be removed. I am totally new to photoshop so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'd use the Clone Stamp Tool. Find an area that is almost identical to whats behind the text and press and hold ALT and then click to set the copy point then goto the text and start drawing as if it were the paintbrush. You may have to reset the copy point a number of times, and depending on what's behind the text if may take some ti8me.

Hope this helps!
