Folks,

What is the best-practice procedure of clearing the 'red message lamp' when someone inadvertently changes the name of a user (while there are unchecked messages for that user)?

Thanks!

This will work:

SC = *90*N#
TN = N"; Msgs=0"
Function = Display Msg

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

So you do *90*extension number# and it says incompatable?
It always worked for me.

Try this N";" Msgs=0"

yeah, it plays the conference tone and just hangs there until I either disconnect or press a button, then says incompatible.

Best practice
Don't changes names on a user that has messages in the mailbox ;-)
(You can use System Status to check)

Computers are like Air conditioners:-
Both stop working when you open Windows

Or delete them first.
I rahter copy the user and then delete the original one and rename the copied one.

No
I definitely make the customer listen to/delete the msgs first.
otherwise the next day they come back & say the phone had messages on it can I get them back!
